Water water, not quite everywhere ....

Well - today was a first for us - having to cancel a session because of not enough water ....! The water level is now so low at Alton Water that the slipway has run out. This has also meant that our pontoon does not have enough water to safely launch the boats.

So today, a group of volunteers got wet and muddy moving the pontoon. Under the guidance of our Chief Instructor, they did a fantastic job of lifting mooring anchors and chain, lifting and rolling the pontoon and moving it out into deeper water. Thanks to everyone who got their hands dirty, ensuring that we can sail for the rest of the season whatever the weather throws at us (though we do also hope for rain to raise the water levels!).
